Laguna Honda
I have to start with a couple of Limantour pictures that got left out yesterday. I did not want to start out the blog with a picture of a dead animal.

Did not leave the house today. No Bovine treat. Inspected the garden. Helped Beth trap gophers. She has trapped six this year.
Thinking back, I can't even remember if I did much of anything today. Maybe a little weeding in the garden. Now I remember, we watched a NYT zoom "conversation" - Living Well: Lowering Risk with Prof. Erin Bromage. We did not learn anything earthshattering. Outdoors is safer than indoors. Time matters - the less time you are in an indoor environment where you might get exposed, the better. Masks are good. Distance is good. Keep at it.
Beth invited some of her fellow Zen Hospice Laguna Honda volunteers for dinner. In normal times, Beth volunteers at Laguna Honda (County Hospital) every Wednesday. San Francisco Zen Center trains the volunteers, who sit with the dying indigent patients. They meditate together between shifts. Beth has done this for about five years. Meaningful work. She misses it. We meditated together for 15 minutes.
Interesting folks. Kelly McVicker is a pickler. She brought curried cauliflower pickles which were delicious. We ate an entire jar. If you see her pickles in the store, get some.
Kelly's boyfriend Alejandro is in the movie industry. Use your imagination here, because I missed the part of the conversation where he described what he does specifically.
Darren is a Dentist/Pathologist/Professor at UOP Dental School. Very interesting and funny. He grew up in New Orleans. His New Orleans stories go on and on. I could listen to him talk for days. He brought delicious crawfish étouffée beignets.
We had dinner outside on the new lawn. I grilled a whole striped bass that I caught recently. Kelly brought a noodle salad that I could not stop eating. What a feast.
Off to SF tomorrow where further fishing adventures await.
