Barns
Beth got me up this morning, distressed about the new lawn. We had been plagued by moles, for the last few days. They created little mounds of dirts here and there. We can't walk on the lawn. Not much we could do about it. We just accepted it.
This morning, however, an animal (probably a fox) tried to help us out by digging holes, trying to catch the mole(s).
We'll buy a mole trap tomorrow. On a positive note, my first tomatoes are ripening.
I decided to go on a bike ride. Since I have not been on the bike in a couple of weeks, I did my short (43.5 miles) loop. Pretty warm out. I did not need any layers.
I saw this at the corner of Hicks Valley Road and the Petaluma - Marshall Road:
I took photos of some old barns I saw along the way:
I love barns. Here is a pic of our old barn in Nicasio:
We never really used the barn for any agricultural purpose. I liked to walk in and around the barn a lot, just for fun. Sometimes we saw barn owls. One time, a stray cow moved into the barn. There is always some interesting old junk in barns, tucked back into corners and in back rooms. Great to explore. Where was I? back to the ride.
I enjoyed the musky smell of wild sage, on my ride. I have smelled that smell in Marin and Sonoma Counties my whole life. Comforting.
Almost home:
Beth and I took an early evening walk in the neighborhood. She wanted to keep up a good pace, but I got distracted. I cannot pass up ripe blackberries.
Back home, Beth zoomed and meditated with her San Quentin group. I prepared a dinner of Roast Salmon with Chimichurri sauce, roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts and a green salad.
We watched a few episodes of Shtisel on Netflix. I recommend this series about orthodox Jews in Jerusalem. Only two seasons. Bingeable. It gets 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Other than getting a mole trap, we have zero plans for the future. I'll let you know what happens.

Excellent, well rounded blog today, Bear! make sure you don’t trap the fox in the mole trap!
