Small World
Already Wednesday. Monday, Beth and I ran some errands in SF. Still pretty much like a ghost town. We took a walk thru North Beach and Chinatown. Searching for some food. We ended up with sub par Chinese. I found a new ice cream place on Columbus:

Beth made this fragrant bouquet from the Graham Thomas rose my mom bought her. Beth thinks of Phyl every time she picks these roses.
Check out this cucumber! I had seen a bunch of wee ones. Then this one just showed up one day.
We have enjoyed cherry tomatoes daily. They rarely make it in to the house. The special taste of home grown tomatoes. I haven't bought a tomato in a store for years. We have also eaten a lot of Gravenstein apples. So sweet and sour. The plums are just ripening. I plan to pick some and take them to Phyl Friday. She doesn't know we are visiting yet.
Turns out Thomas' daughter Kate is dating the son of the guy in the photo. He brought Thomas a piece of tuna and some poke which we had for dinner.

We finished early and drove back to the country. It feels better here.
Yesterday, we took a hike in Pt. Reyes. I found somewhere we had never been, starting at the Five Brooks trailhead, off HWY 1. We encountered lots of horses, poison oak and stinging nettles.
No pictures of poison oak; we all know what that looks like. We had a very pleasant hike. six miles.
I planned to ride my bike again today, but it was too windy. We stayed close to home, doing our usual gardening and meditation. This sunflower is about to open:
Not all good news in the garden. Our lawn is under siege:
Thomas came over for dinner tonite with a surprise: fresh Blue Fin Tuna. Small world story - I am on a fishing list serve - Coastside Fishing Club. The last week there was a thread about blue fin tuna off the coast near Half Moon Bay. Many people ventured out and caught fish 100# plus. I had seen pictures including this one:
An excellent dinner it was!
