The Peaceful Heart
I hate to start out with the admission that I have nothing to say. So, I won't admit it.
I am in SF on a mini fishing getaway. Usual routine this morning in Inverness: garden maintenance and meditation. Beth wanted to watch a video by Jack Kornfield, a well known buddhist teacher from Spirit Rock in Marin.
I read his book, A Path With Heart. I have a lot of respect for him.
We watched his video. I recommend it. 48 minutes long. He starts out kind of slow but ends powerfully. It is not a mediation. More like a zen podcast. He has wonderful takes on the current pandemic and world situation. One of my favorites is his description of what we are going through as a birth; a difficult, painful, dangerous time which may result in something beautiful (in November - he did not say that, I wished it). Kornfield has a way of making complex things sound simple. You can find the video, The Peaceful Heart, here.
No photos today. I looked. All I had was a photo of the inside of my truck that I took while trying to turn my phone off.
I stopped at Berkeley Bowl for provisions for tonight and tomorrow. A guilty pleasure. Then at the boat to pick up fishing gear.
Quiet night alone at the condo in SF. Salmon sashimi and kale salad for dinner. Lots of water to drink as I continue to fight off gout.
I sat at the table and tied fishing leaders. I can't wait for tomorrows adventure on the ocean.
